2023 Texas Plans Announcement

Update for Texas Members

Friday Health Plans will not offer 2023 plans in Texas. This means your health plan will not be automatically renewed, and you will need to pick a new health plan for your 2023 health insurance coverage.

We are disappointed to reduce our plan offerings in Texas for 2023.

Options for purchasing health insurance for 2023 include:

  • Visit HealthCare.gov to see other Exchange plans. Here you can determine if you qualify for an advanced premium tax credit (subsidy) and compare plans that best meet your insurance needs and budget.

If shopping on the Exchange, be sure to update your Exchange application by December 15, 2022.

Review your HealthCare.gov application to make sure the information is still current and correct, and to see if you qualify for more or less financial help than in 2022. This may result in a lower monthly premium payment or lower out-of-pocket costs (like deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance). Plus, you can help avoid paying money back when you file your taxes.

If you need help

  • Visit HealthCare.gov, or call (800) 318-2596 (TTY: (855) 889-4325) to learn more about the Exchange and to see if you qualify for lower costs.
  • Contact an insurance broker or navigator to help you select a health plan that’s best for you.
  • Find in-person help from an assister, agent, or broker in your community at LocalHelp.HealthCare.gov.
  • Call (800) 318-2596 (TTY: (855) 889-4325) for a reasonable accommodation to get this information in an accessible format, like large print, Braille, or audio, at no cost to you.

Again, we appreciate you allowing Friday to serve you this past year. We will be in touch next year about your health coverage in 2024. Until then, we wish you a healthy year ahead.

Sincerely,

The Friday Team

Frequently Asked Questions: Members

When will my coverage end?

December 31, 2022, assuming you continue to make your normal premium payments as required by your policy documents.

Will Friday Health Plans be offered in other states?

Yes, we will continue to serve the On-Exchange and Off-Exchange markets for Colorado, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, and Oklahoma in 2023.

When can I enroll in new Individual and Family coverage for 2023?

The Health Insurance Marketplace 2023 open enrollment period runs from November 1 through December 15, 2022 to ensure a January 1, 2023 effective date. During this period, you can compare plans and select your new plan for the coming year. There are many helpful tools and resources available at Healthcare.gov, or you can work with your broker to find a new plan.

How do I go about finding a new Individual and Family plan?

You can find all available plans and helpful information on Healthcare.gov. You can also work directly with your broker who can provide a more personalized level of service and help you find an alternate plan that best fits your health insurance needs.

How do I ensure my prescriptions are transferred to the new plan?

Please remember to update your pharmacy with your new insurance information as of January 1, 2023.  It’s also a good idea to refill or update prescriptions before December 31 to ensure you have enough supply as you transition plans.

What happens if I’m hospitalized in the transition to my new plan (e.g. December into January)?

Members that are hospitalized before December 31st will continue to receive coverage for the hospital stay only until they are discharged.  Any care needed after discharge beginning January 1st, will be covered through the member’s new insurance carrier.

What if I need medical follow-up with doctors after December 31? Will Friday pay that or will I need to find another plan with the same doctors in-network?

For medical follow-up beginning January 1st, your new insurance carrier will be responsible for that care.  Per law you have certain rights to continuity of care, please connect with your new insurance carrier for details/further information.
