2023 Texas Plans Announcement
Dear Broker,
Friday Health Plans will not offer 2023 plans in Texas.
This means you will need to enroll all your Friday Texas members into new plans for 2023 health insurance coverage.
While we are disappointed to reduce our plan offerings in Texas for 2023, as an organization we are working toward offering health plans again in Texas in 2024.
We will continue to serve the On-Exchange and Off-Exchange markets for Colorado, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, and Oklahoma in 2023.
If you have questions, please contact Friday broker support at 844-270-7075, 8 AM – 8 PM CT, Monday – Friday. Please see below for additional information about questions you may have regarding this announcement.
Broker Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will this decision affect any 2022 commissions?
No
When will my clients’ coverage end?
December 31, 2022 assuming they continue to make normal premium payments as required by policy documents.
When can I enroll clients in new Individual and Family coverage for 2023?
The Health Insurance Marketplace 2023 open enrollment period runs from November 1 through December 15, 2022 to ensure a January 1, 2023 effective date. During this period, you can compare plans and select new plans for the coming year.
How do clients ensure prescriptions are transferred to the new plan?
Please remind them to update their pharmacy with their new insurance information as of January 1, 2023. It’s also a good idea for them to refill or update prescriptions before December 31 to ensure they have enough supply as they transition plans.
What happens if a client is hospitalized in the transition to a plan (e.g. December into January)?
Members that are hospitalized before December 31st will continue to receive coverage for the hospital stay only until they are discharged. Any care needed after discharge beginning January 1st will be covered through the member’s new health plan.
What if they need medical follow-up with doctors after December 31? Will Friday pay that or will they need to find another plan with the same doctors in-network?
For medical follow-up beginning January 1st, the new insurance plan will be responsible for that care. Per law they have certain rights to continuity of care, please connect with the new insurance plan for details and further information.
