Friday Health Plans has grown incredibly quickly, which is a testament to the strength of our mission of delivering affordability, simplicity, and outstanding customer service. Unfortunately, Friday has been unable to scale our financial infrastructure to match the pace of our growth and secure the additional capital required to run our business.
In collaboration with the Nevada Insurance Commissioner Scott Kipper, Friday Health Plans has consented to the receivership, allowing the Commissioner as receiver to assume day-to-day oversight and financial review of Friday Health Plans.
Policyholders’ contracts will remain in effect, and members will need to continue to pay their premiums per the terms of their policies to ensure no disruption to their coverage. The Commissioner, through an appointed special deputy receiver, will communicate with policyholders during the receivership process. In the meantime, Friday Health Plans will continue to serve our members, brokers, and providers.
The Federal IDR process is available only for certain services, such as out-of-network emergency services, certain services provided by out-of-network providers at an in-network facility, or out-of-network air ambulance services. The Federal IDR process is also only available if a state All-Payer Model Agreement or specified state law does not apply; otherwise, the state Agreement or law applies. We are currently upgrading our technology which has caused unforeseen delays in claims pricing for Friday Health Plans members. This has resulted in payment delays from Friday Health Plans to network providers. Affected providers should see resumed payments starting next week. If you have questions about claims with Friday Health Plans, please email email@example.com and a Friday staff member will call or email back within 24-48 hours.
