Guide: Friday Health Plan for Women

As we celebrate the women, past and present, who have fought tirelessly for women’s rights, we especially celebrate those who have fought to improve health outcomes for women.
Women like Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman to receive a medical degree in the United States, and Margaret Sanger, the trailblazing health activist who founded Planned Parenthood in 1916.
In the spirit of these movers and shakers, we’re going to outline all of the healthcare services women get with all Friday health plans.
When it comes to healthcare, there’s a bit more upkeep than your male counterpart. Fortunately, your health plan includes a bunch of $0 services that will help you stay healthy and keep your costs down throughout the year.
Set up your annual well-woman exam
An annual well-woman exam is a free comprehensive preventive exam with your primary care doctor or OBGYN. It includes certain preventive tests, screenings, and shots. It’s also great for discussing your health history and health goals with your doctor who can make referrals and recommend any further tests that need to be done.
Best of all, this visit is included in every Friday health plan. And while you can get it done anytime of the year, we suggest getting it done sooner than later (like now-ish).
Well-Woman exam included tests and screenings:
- Cervical Cancer Screening (Pap smear)
- Anemia Screening
- Breast Cancer Mammogram Screening (for women at risk)
- Breast Cancer Genetic Testing (for women at higher risk)
- Cholesterol Screening
- Diabetes Type 2 Screening
- Urinary Tract Infection Screening
- Gonorrhea Screening
- Chlamydia Screening
- HIV Screening
- Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Test
- Syphilis Screening
- Tobacco Use Screenings and Preventions
- Osteoporosis Screening (for women who are at risk)
We’ve got your birth control covered
Put that wallet away. With every Friday health plan, you get access to free birth control.
Friday’s no cost birth control includes many types of birth control pills, IUDs, the NuvaRing, and Depo Provera -- which you can find on the Friday formulary. (If you have questions, please give us a call to make sure your method is $0.)
Quick note: When making an appointment with your OBGYN or primary care doctor to discuss birth control options, be sure to ask if they prescribe birth control. Not all physicians’ offices prescribe birth control.
Get healthy, stay healthy with $0 generic drugs
You also have access to a wide-range of vaccines to keep you in shipshape. You can get these done at your primary care doc’s office or through a Friday covered pharmacy.
Gonna be a mom? Maximize those maternity benefits
Congratulations! With so much to be excited about, Friday has you covered throughout the whole process with your doctors and delivery team. To start, be sure to pick an OBGYN that will deliver your baby at an in-network hospital.
Your Friday health plan will cover the standard health tests, supplements, exams and hospital delivery and stay. Don’t forget to give us a call when your bundle of joy arrives so they can join your Friday plan and receive all the health benefits for new babies.
